Laptop video card failed so have spare monitor hooked up. Disabled vga in
windows by mistake so looking for a way to edit something (winxp-pro
registry?) to enable vga so I view on spare monitor. Enabling in F8 startup
doesn't work (blank screen after windows loads). Anyone have a suggestion?

Do you know that the video card is also used to control the external
monitor. Most laptops have only one video card that have two
connection (LCD and external monitor.) Is it the video card or the
LCD that has failed?

I assume the LCD since the external monitor works but only when I load VGA
in the F8 startup. Wonder if that makes a difference.

I reloaded winxp and got over the repair mess when I could not see anything.
Noticed that an old spare monitor would no hold a picture (flickers) but
using a fairly new LCD monitor it works fine. Been leery of loading the
laptop video card driver since it works now but flickers when I move with
the mouse something in the picture.

Did find on the internet a way to load blindly with key strokes a previous
registry through msconfig. Unfortunately it came too late to save me from
reloading.
