We currently have an issue at our university where a user
changes their domain password from a kiosk computer in
the library (simple webpage) and moves to a Windows XP
computer pod to sit down and cannot login. They move
over to a Windows 98 computer and don't have an issue.
Here's the strange part. If the XP computer is shut
down, unplugged, and the power dissipated then restarted
the user is able to login. We are stumped and can only
blame some kind of caching going on. But it seems that
there is something stuck in memory or on the network
cards that doesn't go away until the power is shut off
completely. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
