Hi,

Recently I battled some malware on my computers and eventually got it all
removed via several tools (my ISP's anti-virus and spyware programs, along
with others by microsoft, trend micro, etc).

Well after removing all of the bad files now my computer isn't infected yet
it is slower than molasses in january when writing to disk. It is especially
noticable when I'm downloading a file from the internet or trying to extract
a zip file.

I know that there is nothing wrong with my internet connection because I
have 2 other computers here at home connected to the same router as the
problem one and they have download speeds of over 100KB/sec, while this
computer is choking along at about 25KB/sec. The slow computer is a 1.4Ghz
Pentium IV with 1.5GB RAM. My other computers on the network are both slower
and have less RAM.

I'm all out of ideas about what could be wrong. I've uninstalled all of the
anti-virus and anti-spyware programs, but the problem remains. I'm hoping
someone here can help out with suggestions about how to isolate the problem,
or at least point me somewhere out on the web that can help out.

Thanks, Derek
