Vertical taskbar with the Start button at the bottom

I know how to snap the taskbar to the edges of the screen by dragging
and dropping it. I like especially the vertical taskbar on my
widescreen monitor, but if I put my taskbar vertically, the start
button goes to the upper corner (left or right).

Is it possible to have a vertical taskbar with the Start button still
at the bottom (the clock area could go then up)???

You want an upside-down taskbar? No, there's no way to do that, at
least not within Windows. I suppose it's possible that there is some
third-party program that would do that, but I don't know of any. If
you want to look for one, do it with Google.

Well, from the ergonomics point of view this upside-down taskbar
(Start button at the lower-left corner, taskbar vertical with icons
building up from the bottom up) would be much better than the
currently available solution :)

It would allow people to keep using the mouse around the lower-left
corner of the screen, while utilising better the screen area of the
widescreen monitor. Currently, I need to move the mouse cursor to the
top of the screen to activate the Start button or reach application
icons ...

This is a shame, that Microsoft did not consider this option ...
