version of IE associated with AOL

the active bar indicates " Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by America
Online", how do I get rid of any association with AOL?

To remove the "provided by" text, delete the value for Windows Title", mentioned in step No.7. There is also information about removing the animation file in both IE & OE window.

Manual Registry Fix
CAUTION: Editing the registry incorrectly can cause serious problems. Expedient is not responsible for any issues that might occur as a result of editing the registry incorrectly.
1.. Close all browser windows and applications.
2.. Click Start and select Run.
3.. Type in regedit
4.. Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar.
5.. Delete the following string values:

BigBitmap
BrandBitmap
SmallBitmap
SmBrandBitmap
6.. Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
7.. Delete the following string values:

BigBitmap
BrandBitmap
SmallBitmap
SmBrandBitmap
Window Title
8.. Close regedit.
9.. Launch Internet Explorer. The name and logo should be reset to the defaults.
