Verifying DMI pool data... then hangs! What is the reason?

Hello,

I am very new to WinXP Embedded and am still struggling with several
problems. One of them is that WinXP Embedded won't startup. It just hangs
after the message "Verifying DMI pool data".
We are using an Advantech PCM-3380 CPU board with 2GB Sandisk compact flash
as HD. I formatted the CF under Windows XP as FAT32, then simply built the
target image onto it. What am I missing?

Thanks

Check whether or not your SanDisk Card is fixed type or removable type...
suspect it's removable... you need a card that's fixed in order to work
correctly. SimpleTech has their industrial line that is... alternately check
with your SanDisk Distributor to see if they can get the utility from SD
that allows it to be switched to fixed...

I have seen this behavior in the past when it's a removable type CF card.

JC

I have seen this behavior in the past when it's a removable type CF card.

I have also seen this behaviour with drives connected via IDE when the
drive is formatted on one machine and booted on another. The issue
turned out to be that one was using LBA and the other CHS.

Thank you for your replies! I'll try to check wether my card type is fixed or
removable.
