Sticking at 'Verifying DMI pool data'

I've been playing with some modified builds, and I'm
finding that while a the old image will boot, on CF or HD
on all my hardware, and the new image will boot from HD on
a PII we use for copying the images about, and on one
standard target... on another standard target, it sticks
at Verifying DMI Pool Data and will go no further. The HD
is rattling away happily but nothing's happening.
Any idea what could be causing this? As far as I'm aware
there's no difference between the two target machines, and
other builds will work on the target I get stuck at DMI
on.

Hi Heidi,

has the same problem yesterday with a working image, with two out of three different disks.
It turned out that it was the disk partitioning, which had been made with an old operating system.
To fix the problem, I re-partitioned the hard disks with Win2k (WinXP Pro should work also).
This worked with only one of the disks, though. The other one turned out to be faulty (can't write MBR sector).
Don't forget to mark the partition active.
You can then reformat with the FS you need.
