verify windows 2003 file server running free of viruses

I have windows 2003 file server acting very strange, I am suspecting it’s
infected by a virus but I don't know how to approve it. Can any one advice me
a tool that can scan it without creating any problems.

Don't you have an antivirus installed on the server? If you do, which one?
