Vanishing Movie Maker

I reinstalled movie maker, windows xp pro, tried
eveything I can think of and every time I try to use an
effect/transition/title in movie maker 2 it vanishes from
the screen. I can see this is happening to others out
there too. How's about some help microsoft? anyone?
