DVD Maker does not complete

Running Vista Ultima SP 1with 3 GB RAM and 1.7 GHz dual-core processor..
Loaded movie scenes into Movie Maker (with NO transitions or special effects).
Tried to burn DVD with Movie Maker loading Windows DVD Maker.
Processing a 40 minute movie.
System begins encoding and processing locks up at 60+ percent.
Ran for 12 hours of processing and still stuck.
Will not complete. Windows is up to date.
I have run disk check. I have 15 GB unused disk.
What could be to problem? Solution?

Maybe it would be worth a try to create
a smaller project or increase the free
space on your hard drive.

I have 13 GB of frre disk and 3 GB RAM. The system did not work when starting with Windows Move Maker. I used Roxio to make an avi format file. I then loaded the avi into Windows DVD Maker and the system burned the file just fine!!!
