Validation

Hi, I've had a Dell 8300 system with WindowsXp Pro for about 3 years and
recently installed the Microsofts Windows OneCare program which advised me
that I need to install a Windows Update.
I started the update and it came back with a Validation error (see below)
which is very strange since I was able to successfully update Windows for
almost 3 years and all of a sudden, I am advised that the Dell provided
WindowsXp Pro program is not genuine?
Unfortunately, Microsoft does not allow you to contact them so I am at the
mercy of someone in the Newsgroup to please advise me what is going on and
how to remedy the situation.

Windows Genuine Advantage Notification (KB905474)
The Windows Genuine Advantage Notification tool notifies you if your copy of
Windows is not genuine. If your system is found to be a non-genuine, the tool

If you have failed and the update suggests you are running invalid software,
then you can post to n these MS Forums which are monitored by MS.

On the other hand, if it's just a failed install only of kb905474 (which is
common as it also happened to me) then download the update from the below link,
install it and reboot -
