WGA Notify (KB905474) Is Not Necessary

For those (few) of you who may not have downloaded the WGA Notification
tool (KB905474), here's the word from a Microsoft employee. This is
probably NOT the case for the WGA Validation tool (KB89213). I'm almost
certain you have to validate to get WU, although perhaps manual
validation at
http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/default.mspx?displaylang=en will do the
trick as well.

The Notification is more than just a Genuine Notification. It also
notifies users if they are not using XP SP2. This is beacuse Automatic
Updates will soon stop supporting XP SP1 automatically (and already dont
support XP RTM). You do, however, have the option as a genuine user to
turn off ALL notifications you dont wish to recieve. Its good to have. :)

As a genuine validated installation, you will have access to everything
in Windows Update, Windows Download Center, and (if a valid Operating
System) Genuine Benefits software as well :)

I hope this helps,

It is still installed on a person's computer, if they want to use
Windows/Microsoft Update.

Since it kept recurring, I installed the WGA Notification tool. It is
showing in my Add/Remove along wtih WGA Validation Tool, but still keeps
showing up for a new download everyday. I installed it on 5/31/2006.
Sometimes when I turn PC off, a message shows up that my copy of Windows is
not genuine. I have validated my copy over and over and it is legal.
But this WGA notification thing is driving me nuts. How do I get rid it
recurring and uninstall it. It will not uninstall from Add/Remove. It is
also showing up in my HiJackThis scan and when I fix it, it returns every
time I turn PC on. I had to switch to another browser because in some way
it affective anything I try to download(e.g. JRE for java)..Installation is
verified as working, but is not recognized when I try to use it. I even
tried downloading IE 7 beta , but got same results. Stops responding in
middle of something and etc.... Help me to get rid of this in the tray icon
area and uninstall it PLEASE.
