WGA Again and Again and Again...

I'm being nagged by Windows LiveOneCare to install Windows Genuine Advantage
Notification (KB905474). My question is this: on a Gateway notebook running
OEM software that won't install unless it is a Gateway notebook, on a system
that has been validated *at least* ten times already in order to use update
and obtain WGA related software, why do I have to install yet another bit of
software as if it's the first time? When does it stop?

Go to the http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com website, click CUSTOM, when you
see it in the list check the box that says DON'T SHOW AGAIN againt that
update

Try that

The only thing is that many updates need to check to see if its genuine
software. If not, then they won't install. If you have a genuine version of
the OS then what is the problem?

The problem is called "false positives", for which WGA is famous. That
aside, it is insulting to have to prove one is not a thief every time MS
rolls out a new and improved WGA that catches no pirates at all. There
is no justifiable reason that paying customers have to stand in the
crossfire in the fight between MS and the crackers.
