XP genuine validation results

Konfused Kay

I've had my lap top for nearly three years now. Just recently I started
getting notification at start up that my copy of windows did not pass genuine
validation and there is a window trying to sell me a genuine advantage kit.
I have followed directions to load plug-ins suggested, but nothing seems to
solve. Why am I just now getting this problem after owning my computer all
this time. XP was installed at the time of my purchase of the computer.

Did OP mention having installed WGA Notifications? No!

It was implied by the fact that the OP is being *notified* falsely that
the copy of XP is not "genuine".

That can happen when WGAN is not installed.
