Validation of Windows

I am trying to download Synctoy for winxp and have run into a problem at the
validation process.
I downloaded the following file as stated on MS web site to check my OS is
genuine. I know it is as I bought the computer preinstalled with windowsxp
from PC World and have activated it myself..
However when running this plug-in I get the following error:

"Installation information data unavailable".

Can someone advise please?

Figured it out myself. Sorry to bother this group.
Turns out I had downloaded the plug-in from Firefox and it did not like
that! Re did it with IE and it was fine Go figure.
