Okay, here is my situation:
I setup a new XP machine on my network. I am installing a
printer (HP Laserjet 2300)that is shared on a windows 98
computer. My XP machine can browse to the printer. I can
ping the machine that the printer is attached to. That
computer can also ping my XP machine. The printer will
actually install but in the status it says the printer
cannot be found. Other windows 98 machines have no
problem printing to this printer. I have applied all
updates to the XP machine. Have turned off simple file
sharing (which sometimes causes problems like this). Have
gone into security and enabled allowed the everyone
permission to apply to anonymous users (also had problems
with other programs when this has not been done)

Thanks for any help or ideas that can be given
Chris

Are you sure you installed the XP version of the driver for the HP 2300?

If you haven't already, download the Windows XP driver from
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/eng/software_drivers.html and use that
version on your XP computer.

Note that if your Windows 98 computer is using the PCL5e driver, use the
PCL5e (not the PCL6) driver on your XP computer.
