using those buttons

Hello,

I've had my laptop for a couple years now and have never been able to find
information regarding how to configure the play, pause, stop, ffwd and rewind
buttons on the front of my laptop. I have a Toshiba Satellite--- the
widescreen media center edition. How can I make it so that it is able to play
music while the computer is off? I bet it is really simple, I just haven't
figured it out yet.

thanks... jessie

Look at page 92 of the "User's Guide". I've had my computer for over a year
and still have not tried these features. The problem is that I have my
computer automatically wake up when the case is opened defeating the
feature.

CD/DVD control and Music CD buttons

The control buttons to the left of the keyboard let you to play

audio CDs when the computer is off. You can also use them

to play CDs and DVDs when the computer is on.

The Music CD button activates the Media Player on your

computer, and allows you to play music CDs when the

computer is turned off.

If you wish to play a music CD while the computer is off:

1 Press the Music CD button.

2 When the Music light turns on, you may then insert a

music CD into the DVD-ROM or multifunction drive.

If a CD is already in the drive, you may begin to play it using

the play/pause button.

3 Use the CD/DVD control buttons to control the CD as

with any typical CD player.

The play/pause button starts playing the disc or makes it

pause if currently playing.

The stop/eject button stops a disc that is currently playing.

You can eject a disc by pressing the stop/eject button twice.

Use this method to eject a disc when the computer is turned

off and after the Music CD button has been pressed.

The next track button skips to the following track on the

disc.

The previous track button returns to the preceding track on

the disc.
