Using the dialer

When I use the phone dialer to make a call, I don't hear any noise through
my speakers. Anyone know why this could be? I would like to use it to talk
on the phone.

The dialer dials out, but I can't hear it on my speakers. That's the
problem. Everything else is working fine.

Not sure about XP but my understanding was that the dialer was just that a
dialer and once it made the connection you have to pick up the phone to
carry on with the call.
