Using Recovery CD-ROM

After following many recomendations from support groups including updating
the systems Bios and RAM, I continue to get blue screen stop messages with a
wide range errors. I've decided to start from scratch and re-install the
operating system with the recovery cd-rom that came with the computer. Before
I re-install the software which was pre-installed at the factory, is there
anything I should do help ensure the system will finally run clean (ex.
format the C drive). Thanks for your help!!!

A Recovery disk will only return the system to the condition it was in when
it left the factory so there isn't much you can really do to prepare. Just
have all peripherals disconnected or powered off and do not go online till
your firewall, virus scanner, etc are working.

Jerry,
After a successful re-installed of the computers operating system, I
continue to get blue screen stop errors. Most errors tell me I have a bad
device driver. Device manager shows all is fine and also ran manufacture's
hardware diagnostic tool (Virtual PC-check continuous burn in testing). No
problems were discovered!!
Any suggestions?? I really dont know what else to do.

Does it start in Safe Mode? If so, try checking out the startup files or
startup logs. Go to Msconfig and stop the programs from loading there and
see if it will then start. If it starts then it would most likely be a bad
driver (or hardware device)

The system starts up ok. Blue screens occur during use.
