Using Outlook 2003 on New Laptop running Vista

Steve

I'm trying to load MS Office 2003 on a new laptop running Vista.
It loads OK, Word, PPT, Excel all work.
Running Outlook when I try to send/receive I get the message - "Operation
failed: An object could not be found."
Is there an additional file that needs to be downloaded or configured to get
this to work??
Thanks
steve

Thank you for the response.
I performed the operation in the link and still have the problem.
I run test account settings and it completes:
find outgoing mail server (smtp), find incoming (pop3), log onto incoming..,
send test email message.
they all complete but I still have the problem using Outlook.
I log into my email from the internet and find the test message.

Any other thoughts? I think there is a file that is missing or corrupted

Steve~

I just installed Vista Basic and I'm having the same problem; however if you
try the additional info link you'll notice quick that the issue is with the
..pst files not being found.

Now, I use Outlook 2007 with Vista at the office and I dont' have any
problems so this might be another not so subtle reminder to upgrade.

I'm still looking- have you found any solutions?

I was wrong... creating a new profile does work!

Make sure you don't forget to select "use this profile all the time" option
and then select your new profile... If you leave it on Outlook; you won't
have accomplished anything.

Oh, and don't be surprised if you set up your new profile identically to the
old one and it fails the Test. Until you tell it to use your new profile over
Outlook it will.
