Using Access 2.0 in XP

Hi,
I have been using Access 2.0 along with Windows 98, and have recently
upgraded to a new computer with Windows XP home edition. I have copied all
files from old computer to new computer, and the database opens just like it
is supposed to. However, I cannot enter additional data, because the
computer will not recognize any year after 1999. I solved this problem with
my old computer by downloading the patch from microsoft. My question is: Is
Access 2.0 compatible with XP, if so, how do I fix the date problem?
Thanks.

Buy a newer version. Seriously. MS stopped offering any kind of support for
version 2 nearly six years ago, therefore, I would venture to suggest it
isn't compatible with XP (though I'm willing to be proved wrong).

By the way, this group is for questions regarding the XP OS, not programs
installed thereunder, even if they /are/ Microsoft.

Save Money and See if you can find that same patch agian and apply to
Access. If not on Microsoft site. It should be somewhere on the web.
It may be hard to fine.

This doesn't make sense - Access 2.0 should recognize dates after that
12/21/99.
Have you tried creating a new database, and entering a date, to verify that
it's Access and not your app?
Are you trying to enter a date directly into a table, or into a form?
Check that it's not a limitation placed on the form or field by the
developer, which could be removed.

What an intelligent reminder !
