using a rule to copy a sent message

I have a rule that copies all sent messages to a folder in my personal folders.
When this rule encounters a sent email with an attachment it does two very
annoying things.
First it does not copy the email to the folder and notifies me there is an
error with the rule.
Secondly, and worst, it deactivates the rule for all future emails. If I
don't realize this and turn it back on, I do not get copies of my sent emails.
Since I turned off the option to save copies of sent email on the server, I
end up with no record of sent emails that contained attachments.
Can you assist with this annoying problem?

1) Do you copy it to a pst-file? If so make sure it is not located on a
networkshare and check it for errors with scanpst.exe. Also, how big is this
file and is it an Outlook 2003 or Outlook 97-2002 formatted pst-file?

2) It notifies you of the error; turn it on directly afterwards

Roady,
I copy it to a personal folder that I have set up, which is a .pst file. It
is Outlook 2003 running on a Win 2000 system.
I know I can turn it back on but sometimes I miss the error report until I
have sent messages.

Thanks

After trying many approaches to correct this problem, I have found a
resolution.

I created a rule that copies all sent emails with an attachment to a folder
on the exchanger server. Later, when I notice an email in that location, I
manually move it to my personal inbox folder.

No one here responded to me so I kept digging. This works very well.
