Sent message rules

When I create a rule for an outgoing (Sent) message to be placed in a folder
I've created, the email is not placed in the folder and remains in the Sent
folder. No problem with rules for Incoming emails.

Sent rules "move a copy" of the email after sending. So are you sure it
didn't do what it said it would? There will be one in the Sent folder and
one where you told it to "move a copy" to.

A copy is not placed in the Sent folder.
The rules I've used are:
1. Right click on email in Outbox column.
2. The menu is titled "When I get an email with all of the selected
conditions." This could be the problem right here as I'm creating a rule for
an email I have sent, not received.
3. Choose Create Rule
4. Check Sent To box.
5. Next to Sent To check box shows the name of the person corresponding to
the email address and click OK.

I appreciate your help.

6. I check Move Email To Folder, then a folder that I have created that is a
sub folder of the Sent Items folder.

Don't use the right click method as you only get to a cut down version of
the Rules Wizard.
In Sent Items folder. Click Tool | Rules and Alerts (from menu).
New rule
Select Start from a blank rule
Select when I send (not when I receive - I don't have the exact text in
front of me)
Now go through ght steps to make the rule you want.
