I have a laptop which I use on networks at 2 different
offices and at home, the 2 offices have different IP
address ranges but only 1 has a DHCP server, is there any
way I can easily switch between 2 different IP addresses,
as entering the new address every time I want to log on is
becoming a real nuisance.

Any help or ideas would be very gratefully recieved

you can use Alternate Configuration under tcp/ip or netsh.

Isn't Alternate Configuration for Windows XP only? I don't believe W2K Pro
supports this. Since Richard has posted to a Win2000 newsgroup I assume this
is the OS he is using.

www.netswitcher.com will also be of help.

PCMCIA network cards are cheap. Buy one, then dedicate
one connection to the static IP, and use the other for
DHCP connections.

Hi everyone

I not a profi but at the moment I´m learning for my first MCP exam.

Shouldn´t it be possible to solve this problem by using the
Hardwareprofiles???

Just create a second hardwareprofil. In one HW-Profile you asign a IP
adress and in the other one you use DHCP.

At startup W2K is asking what profile to boot.

Just a suggestion.
