I currently have XP and 2000 working together in a P-P environment (I am working on setting them up different but thats a whole other issue) The issue that I currently have is that some users logon on, get through the logon screen but then the computer locks up. It brings up the desktop, and is in the middle of brining up the start tray icons (lower right corner) and locks up. The cursor changes to an hour glass like it is still working but nothing happens. This doesnt always happen and it never happens with Admin rights users. any suggestions??

Run msconfig.exe and use it to disable your non-essential
startup tasks until you find the culprit. To run msconfig.exe
on your Win2000 PC, copy it across from the WinXP PC.
