User Missing

I rebooted my laptop, and my user profile is gone. The
folder of the profile is listed in Documents & Settings,
but when I try to open it up it says access denied. All
my settings are gone and so are all My documents.

Was your laptop on a domain at one point? That user in the Documents &
Settings could be a domain user which has different credentials then what
you are using. Do you get the login screen when you sign in for a domain?
Make sure you are selecting the domain to login to and not the computer name
when you login.
