user account personal settings problem.Help!

I was messing around with the xp user account setup and screwed something
up. Basically I think I unintentionally created another administrator
account. So now I seem to have lost all my personal settings: my IE
favorites, desktop icons, Outlook express settings etc. When I boot up it
offers me only the new user account as a Log in option. I tried system
restore but that doesnt seem to be working at the moment.I can see all my
items are still in a folder marked Administrator in the Documents and
Settings Folder...so they are not lost. I tried deleting the new user
account but Windows won't let me do that. Is there a way to restore all my
previous settings other than using system restore?

Not sure if this will work for you but you can try going to user accounts
again .. in the main window click on the link that says "Change the way
users log on of off" then uncheck "Use the Welcome screen".

Reboot .. it should give you an old style login where you will be able to
type in Administrator as the user name and put in your password.. You should
sign into your normal account then.

This is only a guess .. if this doesnt work and you prefer the welcome
screen you can go back and reenable the setting
