Personal Settings

When a software was installed remotely, I lost my personal settings. Now I
cannot have a wallpaper, or customize MSN to login automatically, remember my
account and password, etc.

It seems that the file got damaged and I would like to fix it. How can I do
that?

Thanks,

What software installed and who installed it?
Did you tried system restore?
Or try to create a new profile and then copy whatever data to the new one.

And how should we know what software you're talking about, how it got
installed remotely and which file got damaged?

Norton was installed remotely because the 2009 version did not want to run in
my XP, so Symantec did it for me. When the personal settings were loaded, it
seems that it froze, because it stayed on the same screen forever. I don't
know what they did, but when it was finally installed, I noticed the problem
I mentioned earlier. I did not have a chance to talk to the person who
installed it later to see if he could do something to fix the problem.

I would rather not to have to restore it, but I will try the link you
provided me to see if I can fix it. Thanks for the recommendation.

There's nothing I can do about Symantec software that was installed by
Symantec. Only Symantec can help you.
