use simple file sharing is missing

I hope this is the right group to ask. In the
tools/folder options/view I seem to be missing the 'use
simple file sharing check box. Also does any one know
where I can get a simple set of defaults for setting
file/security settings when I am logged in as
administrator.

I am running windows XP Home with NTFS file system.

In XP Home, you cannot disable Simple File Sharing. To access the full Security tab boot the computer into Safe Mode, and log in with the built in Administrator account.
