It depends on the camcorder. Currently only the DVD Camcorders will save in
their top quality settings using USB 2.0. In many ways they are better than
Firewire. The DVD in some is basically a DVD RW/RAM drive that you can use
like any external DVD RW drive. The cameras are not limited to transferring
clips in real-time. They will transfer as fast as USB 2.0 will support. On
the downside the video is mpeg-2 already and so it is lower in quality than
DV-AVI, but much smaller, but unfortunately not quite as small as WMV could
be.
