Hello everyone this is my first time here.
How do I find out if my usb ports are usb 1, 1.1 or 2...??Seems a
simple specification to find, but I cannot find the info anywhere. I
have a pavilion 463 hewlet packard pc which is 3 years old in December
and I'm on Windows XP, but all the manufacturers spec says is 'USB
ports....4', no indication of what they are compliant with.

Look n Device Manager under USB Controllers and see if there is an entry
there that contains the word "Enhanced".
If there is then you have USB2 - If not you only have USB 1.
Also you need XP sp1 or sp2 to support usb2.

Rob: Don't know if you have a response yet. Go to pcuid.com and look at
their free download, PC Wizard 2005. Free for home use. I have it on my
computer. After installing the program It will give you all the information
about your computer.

don't suppose there's a way of upgrading to usb2????

Yes I have SP2 installed on XP....
