USB storage device restarts over and over and..

Hi.
I have a problem with several USB mass storage devices (ipod, external
harddisk, thumb drives aso) They are all recognized by xp and starts ok, but
after a while they disappear just to get started again.

Can anyone please help?

My computer: Win XP Pro, MSI KT3 Ultra, AMD

Hi Per, I got the same problems. When did you started get this problem? ever
changed M/B or installed the new OS? I'd like to track it by getting
information from everybody that got the same problem.

I had this problem all the time since I got my motherboard. I just learned
to live with it.
I have a 16MB thumb drive that is working well. I noticed the problem when I
connected an external harddisk.
It may be a hardware problem, but I am not sure.
 
I just noticed this problem yesterday when I connected a multi-card reader.
