USB Printing

Hi there

I'm trying to add an Epson D68 printer via USB. However, when trying to run
through the add new hardware wizard, it finished with the following error:

The required section was not found in the INF.

I've checked the printer ports and there is no USB port available.
Similarly, if I try to install the Epson USB printer port INF file, by right
clicking and selecting install, the screen flickers and then nothing is
added. If I try to add the port manually, the error I receive is that the
specified location does not contain information about your hardware.

Any assistance in this would be greatly appreciated

Kind Regards

Check your USB ports, it looks like they are asleep or not active. You
can check then under System/Device Manager. USB ports if not active
may be set to "sleep" to save system resources, check yours. Try a USB
device such as an MP3 player or even a camera to check the ports.

This has already been checked. We curently have a digital camera and a memory
card reader through the usb ports plus a graphics tablet. These all function
correctly and the printer is detected on startup. However the problem occurs
when trying to install the drivers

Now, you have just given me the info I needed. Your first mistake is that
you connected the printer to your PC and tried to use it prior to installing
the software and that is a "No-No". The software MUST be installed prior
to connecting the printer to your PC. You'll have to start from "scratch".
Do NOT connect the printer nor turn it on. During the installation of the
software you will be prompted to do so.
