USB Ports Crashing/Freezing

I am trying to use my wireless connection to upload some DVD to a network
storage device, but after a few minutes the USB seems to crash and all of my
USB ports stop working.

The USB wireless is a netgear WG111 run through a USB hub with its own
power supply.

Has anyone else ever had this and if so was there any way to fix it.

My PC is a shuttle SN85G4 without any modifications running a AMD3000+ CPU.

The NAS is a Netgear SC101 connected to a Netgear DG834G ADSL Router.

When I use a wired LAN connection it works fine.

Make sure that in Device Manager the USB devices are not set to allow
Windows to turn them off to save power. Also look here for USB help:

General USB troubleshooting in Windows XP

USB wireless does have some problems.. maybe this is one of them.

The link describes uninstalling and reinstalling the USB Drivers, but it does
not say how you reinstall them.

This may be a stupid question, but how do you do this?

My USB device list currently shows:

eHome Infrared Receiver
Generic USB Hub
Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller
Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller * 2
USB Mass Storage Device
USB Root Hub * 3

If I uninstall them all, how do I get them back.

OK, I took the plunge and uninstalled the USB drivers.

Then when I rebooted the machine it found them again and reinstalled them,
so everything is back. But this has not fixed my problem.

I have also noticed that when I plug the WG111 into the PC it does not come
up as a USB device, but as a network adapter.

Anyone any ideas why heavy data trasnfer via this device should cause the
USB ports to freeze and require a reboot of the PC.
