USB ports, 2.0 or 1.1, Device Manager

[I posted this to the general group but no one knew. My USB ports are
okay but I was just curious about the eight lines that appear in Device
Manager/USB.]

I was told my computer has two usb2.0 ports in the front and two USB1.1
ports in the back.

I went to Device Manager under USB and the first line said:

Intel....USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller

Then there are three lines that say:

Intel....USB Universal Host Controller

Then there are four that say:

USB Root Hub.

Are there two lines for each port??

I've used both the front ports and they seem okay. I can't tell if
it's faster or slower than it's supposed to be.

Each USB has a hub and a port entry. For you, that's 8 all together.

Mark - if two ports are 2.0, why does only one line say USB 2.0?

I don't know, if both ports have 2.0 devices inserted in them, the driver
should be 2.0 Maybe deleting the USB Hub device in dev mgr will allow it to
find the driver you need.
