USB mouse doesn't work?

I was very supprised when I verify that my USB mouse doesnt function after I
installed 512 MB DIMM in my PC (did I disconnet any cable? apparently not). I
have lots of USB devices connected to the PC that stop working (apparently)
but keyboard and the whole system and OS seems working properly, except USB
mouse and other USB hard disks. I disconnect every hard disk but didn't solve
the USB mouse problem.
Do you have any hint to solve this problem?
Thanks for helping!

If installing memory caused this problem then
the memory may be defective.

Try running Memtest86+, this runs from a boot disk or CD and should
eliminate or
confirm if your ram is bad.
Let it run for as long as you can, 2,4,6,8 or more hours, if no errors by
then your ram is OK.
See: http://www.memtest.org/

Also, what does the BIOS report?

You screwed something up when you got into your computer. Go back in
and look for connectors that have come loose.

Did you UNPLUG the computer before going inside????
