USB problem

Win XP Pro/SP2

I purchased a new wireless keyboard/optical mouse
(Rosewill) with a USB connection only. I have 2
USB cards with 5 connections each plus 2 on the
front of this home built unit that I connected up when
I constructed the unit.
I have 6 USB units connected to the 2 interior cards
and all operate as designed - no problems at all.
This wireless USB keyboard will only operate when
connected to the two front outlets on the case. I have
tried all the other outlets on the cards plus the interior
usb's on the two cards without success. On boot window
arises (sic) 'Keyboard failure or disconnected' on any
usb but those on the front of the case. Where am I
going wrong? When connected to the front usb's the
keyboard and mouse operate as designed.

If you can get a PS/2 - USB adapter and plug you wireless keyboard/mouse
into that. it should work
