USB Mass Storage Device not showing in Explorer

I've just upgraded to Windows XP. I have an Olympus camera which I used
to be able to get my pictures off but can't since upgrading. It appears
as a USB Mass Storage Device in the Safely Remove Hardware window but I
can't see it under My Computer or in Explorer. I tried copying the
disk.sys and Partmgr.sys driver files from a friends XP PC but with no
success.
Any ideas gratefully accepted.

1. Install the specific package of motherboard drivers for your system.
2. Update your XP to SP2.

Does other USB mass storage devices such as USB flash drives work?

If not, here are some know reasons for USB drives not shown in
the Windows Explorer:

Pavel,
Thanks for you suggestion. I did read something about motherboard
specific drivers but have no idea where to get them from, and what type
of motherboard I have. Any guidance welcome.
Thanks
