USB help!

My mom recently crashed my computer. Ever since then the USB port doesn't recognize when my digital camera ((Kodak EasyShare C310)) is plugged in. Or my scanner ((Microtek)). Any ideas on how to get it to work?

What did you do to fix the 'crash' ... ?

Are all your drivers up-to-date ... ?
