Hi,

I have an external hard drive that I connect to USB. Up until 2 days
ago the hard drive used to be read properly by the Windows XP (Home)
plug and play. Then suddenly it refused to install properly and in the
device manager I get the following message "The device cannot start
code (10)". The stuff on this drive is extremely important to me.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried restoring to 3 days ago ... still doesn't solve the problem...

I also tried running the troubleshooting it finally tells me to go try
find a solution elsewhere!!

Any other suggestions?

If all else fails regarding the others advice, put the HDD into your machine
as either secocondary master or primary slave, see if you can copy your
data over.

I'm assuming it's an IDE HDD, if its SATA just plug it into one of the
unused SATA ports.
