HI

Please help. . . I have bought a Panasonic NV-Gs11
digital video camera cause we are having a baby any day
now and now I am stressed.

The Firewire adapter I put in my PC totaly crasched the
pc and I got all that text about errors and blue screen,
so I thought hey I got the USB thing so I can do that.

Plugged in the camera and my wunderful XP home ed found
it and I could see it in My computer as a camera.
I did not know that you could not wiev the movie from
there so I also installed the USB drivers from Matsushita
that came with the camer... AND NOW I do not get the
camera up in My computer.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled all USB devices in
device manager. .nothing works, when I plug the camera in
it comes up as the little icon that says safe remove
something and all seems fine...but it is not.

In the process I also lost C:\windows\installer something.

help!

Camilla,
Slow down. The welfare of you and the baby is much more important than
anything else.
Did you get the latest drivers [for XP] from the mfg web site?
Get someone other than yourself to re-install the Firewire card.
Is your version of XP fully updated? You must at least have Service Pack 1?

HI Gene

Thx for the fast respons, well I should have the latest
driver and I do get winXP updates automatically, will
check Sp1.

I can forget about the USB thing, found posts on Internet
that Panasonic knows that the drivers for NV-GS11 is
corrupt, but they do not update ( makes me a bit mad ).

I burrowed another Firewire card and will try that first,
juts to make sure it is not the card that is faulty.

MFG website ? me dunno what that is short for...

Thanks again Gene for taking the time
