USB Drivers conflict

I just formated my computer and i went to the device manager and under the Universal serial bus controllers there is no conflict its fine. But Other devices it shows a question mark and exclamation mark next to the Universal serial bus (USB) controller Whats that mean? what driver do i need to get? i have Via Usb info THanks for your help
