USB Drive & Hub asking for drivers?

I had similar problem when I connected a generic USB2 hub to my PC (Dell
Dimension 4500, WinXP SP2), the hardware wizard "cannot find the necessary
software". Several hours searching couldn't find an answer in MS or Dell
websites, but Google found the solution in
http://redcl0ud.1.forumer.com/a/xbcd-not-finding-gamepad_post385-15.html,
which identified the problem as a file (usb.inf) missing from c:\Windows\inf.
I found a file with the same name in c:\I386, copied it to c:\Windows\inf,
and that cured the problem.

For future reference it's best not to post your new question as a reply to
another thread. Start a new one, and please don't post in all caps. That
is against normal style because it can be hard to read and is considered
shouting.
