usb device repeatedly needs reinstallation

hi! i have this problem with win2k and also xp. a portable
usb medical imaging device that we have used repeatedly on
many of our computers , might suddenly be recognized as
new hardware by one of this computer and need new
instalation of drivers. while this hardware was doing ok
on this very computer yesterday. any thoughts? thanx
 
I to have the same problem outlined below. Mine centers
around a lexmark all in one. Would be interested in how
to correct. Any takers?
