USB Device Not Recognized

Hello,

When I attach either my Digital camera or MP3 player to my computer I
get the "USB Device not recognized" error message. I then took the mp3
player to my laptop and plugged it in and it recognized it fine. Both
of the systems are windows XP Pro. Any clue why my first computer is
having a problem and how I can fix it without having to reinstall
windows?? Thanks for the help.

Hi Hec,

Check that the Windows Image Acquisiton (WIA) service is running. Click
start/run and type services.msc, scroll down to it and start it if it is
not. Otherwise, you might also try the steps here:
