USB controller reports problems after sleep

Hello,

I have a motherboard built-in USB controller that reports problems when I
wake the computer from sleep (both hibernation and sleep). When I reboot
Windows, the controller works properly. As a workaournd, I can also disable
and reenable the controller in Device Manager. The problem seems only to
occur when Windows wakes, and occurs very often but not always.

When I look at Device Manager, it shows a yellow icon for the USB
controller:

Intel(R) ICH8 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 283A
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_283A&SUBSYS_50061458&REV_02
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

Strange enough, USB devices managed by the controller still work, however,
they operate in USB 1.1 mode, and Windows displays a message that the device
could operate faster.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Windows Vista x86, Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 board, latest BIOS

TIA,
Marius

Check for newer drivers for your motherboard or system. If all else fails
do not use standby or power saving modes that you know cause problems.

There are no drivers that Intel provides, besides the .inf update utility.
do not use standby or power saving modes that you know cause problems
To stop using something that ought to work is not really useful advice.
