USB 2 ports stop working

When I plug any device direct into my USB 2 ports I'm getting the message
device not recognised. But if I attach a device via a USB 1.1 hub then all
works fine.
I've looked over the web to find the USB2 drivers for Windows XP Home but to
no available.
Has anyone any idea how I can repair this problem?

Geoff, rt click MyComputer>select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>USB
Controllers. Look for one that says
Enhanced. If there and no yellow mark next to it AND you have at least SP1
installed it's not your drivers.
