USB 2 and fire wire

Hello please can anybody help i use a camcorder to transfer my holiday movies
i have just changed my computer this does not have a firewire conection but
it has USB 2 can i use USB2 or would i need to install a new fire conection

thanks in advance
 
If the Camcorder has a USB port and a firewire port, you can try using the
USB port. Otherwise, you will need to install a firewire card. Some MBDs
have a firewire port on the MBD, and require a cable adapter to get from the
MBD header to the rear panel. It's usually simpler to add a firewire card.
