usb 2.0

I khave recently installed a new motherboard(K8N Neo-FSR)
and chip(Amd64 Athalon) into a new a case(Antec Sonata).
All seems to be working well except that when I plug into
the jusb slots(in the motherboard) for my case bezel it
doesn't seem to recognize it. I am basing this on the
fact that it does not read my usb Sandisk cruzer micro.

It is also not reading the cruzer with a usb 2.0 bracket
that came with the motherboard. help me out plz

Did you install the motherboard drivers?

yes, but the curious thing is that MSI(manufacturer)'s
driver cd says that I need to download the drivers from
Microsoft. Th ecurious part about that is that it is for
windows xp pro and only for the xp sp1. It just doesn't
jive. I figured that sp2 would be just as good if not
better yet that doesn't work either. I have not been
able to locate any other driver from Microsoft or MSI.

Have you checked in the BIOS to see what level of USB is
enabled. My Intel mobo (D845GBVL) defaults to USB 1.1, you
have to check 2.0.
