USB 2.0 ?

I recently purchased a new case that supports USB 2.0 in the front. My
A7V333 has 1 USB 1.1 header and 1 USB 2.0 header. You are supposed to plug
the additional 2 USB ports supplied with the motherboard to the USB 2.0
header. (the additional 2 USB ports plate and MIDI *the one you mount in
the open PCI slot that plugs into the USB 2.0 and MIDI headers on the
motherboard) I wanted to use USB 2.0 in the front for my xD picture card
reader. Now I can get USB 2.0 in the front, however, now I get USB 1.1 in
the back. (AS EXPECTED) I don't need USB 2.0 in the back at all. BUT,
this isn't my problem. The problem is one of my USB ports in the back on
that plate isn't working now. (just one of them) Both USB ports on the
front are working though. Any ideas?

My A7V333 has a pair of USB 2 ports located at the rear, just above the
audio jacks. These are connected direct to the mobo. The other usb rear ports
are USB 1.1. One pair are direct connected to the mobo and are located
just below the mouse and keyboard jacks, and the other pair are on the
midi/usb port plate and connected to USB2_3 header shown on the lower
picture on pg 40 in the manual. Cases don't need to be usb 2 designed in
order to function at usb 2 speed. I have my low cost Maxtop case front USB
connectors plugged into USB20_34 header shown on the upper picture on page
40 in the manual and they function fine at usb 2 speeds.

Yes... I wanted the high-speed in the front for my xD card reader for
quicker transfers and on top of that, I got a message every single time that
I plugged in the reader with XP saying that a high-speed USB device was
plugged into a low-speed USB hub. I was getting tired of that every time.

I have a Lian Li pc 60 case with the four usb ports in the front two are
high speed and two aren't when I plugged my high speed device in to it.

This is the main reason why I recently bought a P4C800E-and-P4 instead:
Always trouble with USB on VIA chipsets!
I connected a usb 2.0 hub to one of the 2 2.0 sockets and the 1.1
sockets (the upper ones) stopped working altogether.
Before that, I had probs with usb connections getting lost, voltage
disappearing etc.
